About Program
Immerse in rural Japanese culture on scenically beautiful Sado Island, protect the endangered Crested Ibis, Japan's iconic bird, and conserve the agricultural heritage of terraced rice fields set up during the Edo Period in this program from World Unite!
You will join other international volunteers at the Mother Nature Conservation Camp Sado Island/Japan, and stay on the grounds of the beautiful historic Koninji Temple where you will help to maintain the temple and its gardens.
You will encounter various conservation activities, especially for the protection of the Crested Ibis, collecting herbs in the forest for herbal blends, bamboo workshops with school children, maintenance of the biotope of Iwakubi, and various farming activities.
