About Program

Receive a comprehensive introduction to the tourism industry, including information about tourism’s global, national and regional significance and the major development and management issues associated with the discipline. Lincoln University’s tourism programmes were established internationally more than 20 years ago.

Tourism, recreation and well-being are key areas in understanding how people spend their leisure time. The courses offered in both semesters provide an understanding of the theoretical and practical implications of tourism and recreation. A student taking these courses will gain knowledge of tourism and recreation, have skills that can be used in a professional environment and appreciate the ethical aspects of recreation. The sustainability of environments in which people partake in leisure is either explicitly or implicitly covered in all the courses. The breadth of knowledge gained will also provide transferable skills into other areas
