Cláudia is a freelance journalist and, essentially, someone who likes to tell stories. She has been aboard a refugee rescue ship in the Mediterranean and in Bangladesh's garment factories, to tell the stories in a Portuguese newspaper and The New York Times. She lives in Portugal, but friends are always asking where she is going next. She has worked for the World Bank, in the United States, lost herself in the desert of Jordan, crossed the Sahara by van, and ate fish with her hands on a desert island in Timor. Between volunteering, work, and travel, she has been to three dozen countries.
