Guaranteed Internship: As part of the Global Experiences program you are guaranteed an internship in your host city. We do our best to find a high-quality internship that matches your background and future goals.
Personalized Attention: We want this experience to be as fulfilling as possible. From the first phone call, we support you and give you all the resources you need to make sure your internship is a success.
Professional Development: Through one-on-one coaching and webinars, we assist you in improving in your cover letter and resume. We also prepare you for any interview with a potential employer, establish internship goals, and discuss your strengths.
Centralized Housing: Your housing will be centrally located in your host city. Staff available 24/7 are in every one of our host cities. Our staff also host various day trips and social events during the course of your internship.
School Credit: Depending on what college you attend you may be able to get a whole semester’s worth of credit. We work with dozens of schools to help students get the credit they deserve.

Scholarships

Global Experiences Generation Study Abroad Scholarship

Global Experiences offers scholarships for both summer and semester terms in any of the organization’s 11 global cities. They are currently accepting applications for summer and fall 2021 and 2022. Full scholarships are available for semester-long programs, with special consideration given to those who are underrepresented in study abroad programs. Global Experiences also contributes to those who receive a Pell Grant or Benjamin A. Gillman scholarship, for both in person and virtual programs.

I interned at Solace Women's Aid in London thanks to Global Experiences this summer and I loved it. My internship was perfect for me and GE was there if I needed support or help with anything, which luckily I did not. They really simplified the process of finding the internship and finding housing, and even planned a few fun social events and excursions throughout the two months I was in London with them too. If anyone is on the fence about GE, I would definitely tell them that they are legitimate and interning through them will provide immense professional and personal development.

My experience in Dublin changed my life! I grew not only personally but professionally as well! This experience showed me that putting my self out there will lead me to places and opportunities that I couldn't even imagine! Global experience advisors were helpful and didn't baby us. If I didn't anything they were good with communicating back as fast as they could! I will never forget my experience, and I would recommend it to anyone! Great experience!!

I am a huge fan of Global Experiences, so much so that I've now done two summers with them in London! I've always had the need to explore, yet I knew that I needed to spend my Junior and Senior summers doing internships to prepare me for the future, so interning abroad seemed like the perfect solution. I've had great experiences both times, most significantly in my placements. I'm a Business student looking to enter the entertainment industry and I wasn't sure what would be available for me abroad, but GE found two really great internships that helped me to develop skills in management, production and even video editing that I never expected. I learned so much about myself, my work and how I fit into the industry that I've even altered my career path and I'm more excited than ever about the future.

Global Experiences isn't just an internship, it's the whole package. It can be a little intimidating moving across the world to work in a place you may never have been before with a culture that is unfamiliar to you, but GE is really good at preparing you and being supportive throughout the experience. You're with a group of people that are all going through the same thing, and you help build each other up so that you all have the best possible time. The events are also geared towards helping you integrate into the local culture which is so important if you want to get the most out of your experience.

I would (and I have) recommend friends to do this program, as I can't really see the last two summers being any more wonderful!

This past summer was one I could never forget! My internship taught me so much about my major and even gave me the opportunity to come back and work for them. It was so amazing being able to work in another country because I learned so much beyond the office! What is your favorite travel memory?

My group of students and I had just arrived in Salzburg, Austria to blue skies and warm weather. I needed some alone time after some stressful travel (16 year olds in a foreign environment will challenge the patience of even the most practiced monks), so I wandered the city to stretch my legs and enjoy the freedom.

This was my 3rd time in Salzburg, so I had seen most of the tourist attractions; however, an idea struck. Since THE SOUND OF MUSIC is my all-time favorite movie musical, I challenged myself to a photo scavenger hunt to find all the things in “My Favorite Things.” I found Raindrops on Roses in the Mirabell gardens, Whiskers on Kittens on a hand-painted toy in a local shop, Creme Colored Ponies riding through the streets, and a Bright Copper Kettle in an antique shop. It was a time I enjoyed living in the moment and relaxed with the sights and sounds of a beautiful town nestled gently between the rolling hills around the Alps.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

I was a high school teacher for five years, teaching International Baccalaureate theatre courses and general English. While Global Experiences internships are very much so an educational experience, I had to learn the ins and outs of universities, visas, credits, and career paths. When I speak to students and people interested in working abroad, I have developed a confidence to connect with them personally and illustrate for them what their future adventure could look like.

I also had never been exposed to CliftonStrengths, which has been a game changer in both my professional and personal life. My strengths are Individualization, Futuristic, Restorative, Activator, and Relator. I had finally found a way to articulate my strengths and found it brilliant that Global Experiences uses this system to guide the intern's experience. Positive psychology for the win!

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

The very first student I worked with came from South Africa and wanted to do an internship in NYC. She interviewed well for her internship and was offered a position within a high-end fashion company in Manhattan. Later, she would get to work for her company's Fashion Week and was working with models and designers from all over the world. She even came back to me before the program ended and was ready to do an internship in Paris the following summer!

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

Without hesitation, I would have to say Barcelona. I absolutely fell in love with the program when I started at Global Experiences. It has all of my favorite things - centuries old architecture, delicious cuisine, fiery dancing, warm beaches, and beautiful landscapes. This destination draws in a huge international crowd, so a melting pot of ideas and industries flit throughout the city which is great for our interns. You want to do Fashion, great! You want to do Film, better! You want to work in Nutrition, why not?

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

I feel valued, which translates into us valuing all of our interns. If we have an idea, it is listened to and can be tested or tried without roadblocks. We are provided with tools of support and optimism, which I haven't experienced in many work places. Personally, I am always really proud of the Admissions team whenever we make and share materials and resources, so we can all be successful.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

Communication and honesty. Communication is the absolute first step to success. When everyone is on the same page, everything just seems to move with fluidity. And when communicating, it is imperative to be honest. This is important to both our co-workers and our interns. Honesty allows for clear expectations and a joyful experience.
