About Program

You can now join IVHQ volunteer in Kerala, India! The India - Kerala volunteer program is located in the city of Kochi (or Cochin) on the south-west coast of India in the state of Kerala. Volunteers live and work in the Fort Kochi area, a popular tourist spot that is famous for small boutiques, colonial buildings, excellent regional cuisine and its unique Chinese fishing nets.

You can choose from 6 volunteer project options in Kerala, including Teaching, Medical, Dentistry, Kindergarten, Women's Education and Special Needs Care.

Volunteers are accommodated in a volunteer house and are provided with three meals per day. The IVHQ India - Kerala program fees include airport pick-up, orientation, accommodation, meals and 24/7 in-country support.

Yes, I recommend this program

Absolutely incredible!

I went to Kerala on the kindergarten project and had the most incredible time! The staff in the house were absolutely lovely! And extremely helpful when it came to lesson planning or just our general questions about the area or culture! I went for 3 weeks and I would recommend doing longer as I did not want to leave!! But it was an experience I will never forget and hopefully I’ll have a chance to go back next year 💕 I would recommend this experience to anyone! While we were here there was a woman volunteering with her 13 year old son and he seemed to enjoy the experience as much as everyone else so it might be a nice trip to take with your kids to show them the other side of the world and just how different it is!! There is nothing I can say bad about this trip!!

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
If I could do it all over again I would stay longer! I had no other complaints just that I had to leave

Yes, I recommend this program

IVHQ-ing in India

IVHQ as a very trustable and supportive platform, it allows anyone (from those passionate for teaching to those wishing to help treat animals) help a variety of communities abroad. With the various programs it offers, it fits to any person. I went with IVHQ to India and had an incredible experience - met amazing people, made friends for life, ingrained Indian culture in myself with such welcoming families/communities, among other valuable gains. All in all, IVHQ provided the support I needed and the program coordinator was always available for any queries.

What would you improve about this program?
I did not look for perfection (as that is impossible), yet there are somethings that could be improved, e.g. introductory activities to get to know other volunteers.
