Belize Marine Ecology Program

In Belize, you'll see the world from a dolphin's-eye view. The tangle of low islands and turquoise waters off the mainland coast are home to low-lying cayes, chains of island. Here, researchers are working to study and protect this delicate ecosystem for the species that depend on it. You'll join them to study reef ecology and hunt for the invasive lionfish; then, you'll head inland to explore ancient Mayan culture and tropical ecology while you track jaguars and other mammals in the Belizean rainforest.
